Prep Bowling: Harrisburg finishes ninth at Bulldog Invite

The Harrisburg boys' bowling team finished ninth out of 11 teams at the Bulldog Invitational Saturday at Ross Cottom Bowling Alley.

Carter Rice led the Bulldogs with a 1137 series for the six games, finishing with a 190 average.

"Carter threw the ball good all day, until running out of gas in the final game," Harrisburg head coach Doug Cottom said. "Our kids competed until the end Saturday, but just didn't have what it took to get to the next level."

A strong Collinsville team took the top spot with a 5762 score, while Salem was second at 5628 and Cahokia was third at 5527.

Belleville West (5434) and Mt. Vernon (5391) rounded out the top five, while Bellieville East (5342), Eldorado (5326), Herrin (5176), Harrisburg (4974), Centralia (4953) and Carbondale (4812) rounded out the scoring.
