  • The Harrisburg High School boys’ golf team tied its low round of the year, firing a 145 in a win over West Frankfort (161) Tuesday at Shawnee Hills Country Club.
Ryan Williams was steady for the Bulldogs, putting up three birdies on his scorecard and finishing with one bogey to take medalist honors with a 34.
Ben Fowler and Garrett Jenkins each shot a 37, while Patrick Bittle carded a 38.
Harrisburg head coach Michael Tison noted how close his team was to shooting under par.
“One over is a very good team score,” Tison said. “I just know this team has the capability to shoot under par as a team. I continue to be pleased with how steady Garret and Patrick are playing.”
