  • Lindell Eugene Schimp, 79 of Eldorado, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

  • Lindell Eugene Schimp, 79 of Eldorado, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
    He was born on Oct. 22, 1934, in Eldorado to the late William and Ruth (Justice) Schimp. He married Maxine Downey on May 17, 1958, and she survives in Eldorado.
    Lindell served his country in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a masonry contractor for 40 years and then co-founded Grayson Hill Farms, Inc. which is a wholly subsidiary of Compressed Energy Systems, LLC of Eldorado. He was a member of the Eldorado St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
    Surviving family members include his wife: Maxine of Eldorado; his two sons: Alex (Tina) Schimp of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chris (Jan) Schimp of Eldorado; five grandchildren: Dustin Schimp, Liza (Michael) King, Ryan (Megan) Schimp, Luke (Paige) Schimp and Gabe Schimp; five great-grandchildren: Presli and Peyton King, Lane and Bailey Schimp and Emma Doggett. He is also survived by a brother Kenneth (Bud) Schimp; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a infant daughter Mary Lou Schimp.
    Lindell loved boating and spending time at their lake home, being outside, working at his home and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
    Mass Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eldorado. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado.
