Names released in Walsh Road accident

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office released its report of Monday's single-vehicle accident on Walsh Road today.

According to the report, 33-year-old Timothy Hobeck, of Chester, was driving a 2000 Jeep SUV south on Walsh Road when the Jeep exited the left side of the roadway and struck the ditch a quarter of a mile north of Shawneetown Trail.

The Jeep then overturned before coming to rest on its top and bursting into flames. Hobeck and the other two occupants of the vehicle, 35-year-old Lisa Dunklin of Ste Genevieve and 25-year-old Jared Ballinger of Red Bud, were ejected from the Jeep when it overturned.

Dunklin was airlifted from the scene to St. Louis University Hospital, while Hobeck was transported to Chester Memorial Hospital by MedStar Ambulance. Ballinger declined treatment at the scene.

According to a SLU spokesman, Dunklin was listed in "fair" condition as of Friday afternoon. Hobeck was treated and released.

The accident was reported at 12:18 p.m. and no citations were reportedly issued at the scene. Both Chester and Ellis Grove firefighters were paged to the accident to spray foam on the Jeep, which reignited several times until being righted by a neighboring farmer's tractor.
