  • Prep Football: Harrisburg, Roper announces summer football dates

  • The start of the Harrisburg High School football season will start on July 7th when head coach Jason Roper will hand out equipment to perspective players, starting at 11 a.m. for juniors and seniors.
    Sophomores interested in playing football will receive equipment on July 9th at 11 a.m., while freshmen will receive their equipment on Friday, July 11th at 11 a.m.
    At that time, all participants interested in playing football should also bring a physical.
    Bulldog camp will start July 14th and run through July 25th for sophomores, junior and seniors with sessions starting at 4 p.m. each evening.
    The camp for freshmen will be held July 21st through August 1 from 9-11 a.m.
    There will be a camp for seventh and eighth graders this year, running from July 28th through August 1st.
    The cost for all campers seventh grade through senior is $30 and participants can sign up at the Harrisburg Park Office.
    The official start for Harrisburg football this year will be on Monday, August 11th.
