    Carrier Mills
For nearly 30 years the Carrier Mills Legion Post 364 has been honoring fallen veterans with their annual honor guard ceremony. This year, the ceremonies will start at 10 a.m. at the Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, Ledford Cemetery in Ledford at 10:30 a.m., Lakeview Cemetery in Carrier Mills at 11 a.m. and the Carrier Mills Nursing Home at 11:30 a.m.
The local Legion Post and all of the Legion Posts throughout our nation feel very strongly about this demonstration of their loyalty and duty to their fellow servicemen and women. The tradition of honoring our fellow citizens who have risked all; past, present and future, because of their unswerving belief in our way of life has sadly fallen out of favor in the mainstream culture in America today, according to the legion. Happily, in our area, many veterans citizens groups feel that these men and women, alive and deceased, deserve the proper ceremonies to commemorate their risk and often, sadly, their sacrifice of all that a human had, has or can have, in order to preserve the way of life we enjoy in our country today.
