  • Illinois State Police District 19 are aggressively enforcing traffic laws through the end of summer.
With the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend and the beginning of the summer travel season fast approaching, now through Memorial Day Weekend and following summer months troopers will be participating in the “Click or Ticket” campaign of seat belt and other enforcement, according to a press release from ISP District 19 Commander Captain Kelly Hodge.
The focus through the use of various patrols is to reduce of the “Fatal Four” violations of speeding, DUI, failure to wear a seat belt and distracted driving.
According to Captain Hodge, “This should be an enjoyable part of the
year when family and friends can spend time with one another; however, we
would ask for your assistance with keeping the highways safe during the
upcoming summer months. Remember, be responsible behind the wheel and
follow the speed limit, don’t drink and drive, always wear your seatbelt,
limit distractions while driving and be on the lookout for motorcycles.”
