  • Gallatin County baseball coach Dave Cruson picked up win No. 200 Thursday as the Hawks knocked off Crab Orchard 14-3.
    Gallatin improved to 19-1 on the season and 8-0 in Greater Egyptian Conference play as Zach McGuire went six innings, striking out seven and scattering five hits.
    Gallatin County was led at the plate by Marcus Wargel, who went 4-for-4 with a big two-run home run in the second inning. Mitchell Ramsey added a solo shot in the fourth and Austin Russell chipped in with three RBI to pace the Gallatin County offensive attack.
    Gallatin County goes to Vienna today (Monday) and will return home Wednesday to host Goreville, before going to Carrier Mills Thursday.
