  • The Gallatin County High School baseball team stayed perfect in Greater Egyptian Conference play, scoring 15 runs in the fifth inning to knock off Galatia 21-4 Tuesday.
    The Hawks (15-1, 5-0 GEC) saw a solid day at the plate where Seth Ramsey finished 3-for-4 with six RBI, while Zach McGuire went 2-for-3 with five RBI. Austin Russell finished 3-for-3 with three RBI.
    Jared Jackson picked up the win on the mound, tossing a three hitter, while striking out six. Jackson gave up two earned runs over four innings and gave way to Marcus Wargel in the fifth inning, who had a 1-2-3 performance against the Blackcats.
    Gallatin County is scheduled to play Pope County Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
    Carmi-White County 14, Eldorado 4
    CARMI — The Eldorado High School baseball team had eight hits in a losing effort, falling to Carmi-White County 14-4 in Black Diamond Conference action Tuesday.
    Adam Collier, Dylan Riddle and Stanton Hathaway each had two hits for the Eagles, while Drew Woolcott and Christian Dalton had the other two hits for Eldorado.
    Woolcott drove in two runs, while Dalton and Hathaway each had an RBI. Collier scored two runs, while Tyler Deaton and Hathaway scored the other two runs.
    Collier picked up the loss on the bump, giving up 10 hits and allowing six earned runs. Collier struck out two and walked two.
    Drew Woolcott pitched 1/3 of an inning, giving up six runs (five earned) on six hits.
    Eldorado plated a run in the top of the first inning, but the lead was short lived as Carmi-White County came back to score two in the bottom half of the frame.
    The Eagles took a 3-2 lead, scoring two more runs in the top of the third, but the Bulldogs knotted the score at three with a run in the bottom of the third.
    From there, Carmi-White County scored five runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth.
