  • Prep Baseball: Hawks slip past Hamilton Co.

  • The Gallatin County High School baseball team slipped past Hamilton County 5-2 in prep action Wednesday.
    Tyler Crayne went six strong innings, striking out four, while Marcus Wargel finished up the seventh to pick up the save for the Hawks (11-1).
    At the dish, Gallatin County was led by Jared Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI’s, while Zach McGuire went 2-for-4 and Seth Ramsey finished 2-for-3.
    Gallatin County posted a run in the second inning and tacked on three more runs in the third. The Hawks put up a run in the fourth, taking a 5-0 lead before the Foxes scored a run in the top of the fifth. Gallatin County responded with a run of their own in the bottom portion of the frame and held off Hamilton County in the seventh whose late rally fell short with just a run.
