  • Steed steadies Eldorado offense at plate

  • The Eldorado High School softball team pounded out eight hits in a 12-2 win over Gallatin County Wednesday at the EHS Sports Complex.
    Michaela Laswell picked up the win in a short-game performance, striking out 10, while allowing two earned runs on five hits.
    Abby Steed paced the Eldorado offense at the plate, going 2-for-3, driving in four runs and scoring one.
    Kelsea Newman, Sam Mings, Brooklyn Peavler, Lexi Clore, Stephanie Oker and Laswell all had one hit, while Oker had two RBI’s. Caitlyn Stafford, Newman, Laswell, Peavler and Clore all had one RBI.
    McKennah Bowen scored a pair of runs, as did, Kaitlyn McGuire and Newman, while Stafford, Mings, Peavler, Clore and Oker all scored one run.
    Eldorado scored early and often, putting up a six-spot in the first inning, followed by another half dozen runs in the second inning.
    Eldorado is scheduled to return to action today (Thursday) against Trico at 4:30 p.m.
