Four charged in Church Street meth lab

Harrisburg Police followed their noses and arrested four accused of manufacturing methamphetamine on West Church Street Wednesday.

Officer Nathan Moore noted an odor of ether in the neighborhood and knocked on the door at 821 W. Church St., according to Chief Bob Smith.

William Toby Lyon, 39, Harrisburg, opened the door and said there was a meth lab inside, though it was not his, Smith said.

Officers secured Lyon, Kacey Durham, 25; Ryan Trout, 41; and Penny L. Fuller, 37, all of Harrisburg and then obtained a search warrant.

Officers called for the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team and searched the residence where they found an active meth lab.

All four were charged with possession of meth, meth manufacturing and possession of meth manufacturing chemicals.

Durham - who resides in the house - and Trout were also charged with possession of hypodermic needles.
