Resident warns of e-mail scam

An Eldorado resident is warning others of an Internet scam in which the writer claims the recipient has an undeliverable packages waiting for them.

Nancy Savage said she has received two such e-mails.

One claimed to be from Costco stating the delivery of an order was canceled because the address was incorrect. The message said she was to complete an online form and reply within one week or she would only receive 21 percent of her money back.

A similar e-mail was from Walmart stating about the same thing and to reply within a certain amount of time or she would receive only 17 percent of the money back.

She had ordered nothing from either company. She contacted the companies and they are aware of the scam, instructing her not to open the attachment. Savage also contacted the Saline County Sheriff's Office.

Savage said she also receives e-mails stating someone wants to rent her time share property, though she has no time share.
