  • In a game that featured 21 lead changes and nine ties, none were bigger than the deuce and abuse Mitchell Ramsey connected on for Gallatin County with three minutes to play in the game.
Ramsey's three-point play gave the Hawks a 52-46 lead and propelled them to a 58-48 win over Eldorado in the final night of the Harrisburg Invitational Saturday at Davenport Gymnasium.
It was the fourth straight loss for the Eagles, after opening the season with a win over Gallatin County nearly two weeks ago.
Joe Clark's crew didn't win a game at the Harrisburg Invite and continues to look at turnovers as being his team's Achilles heel.
The Eagles had 12 first half turnovers, seven in the second quarter, despite holding a 24-22 lead at halftime.
The Eagles closed the contest with a total of 23 miscues, 11 of which came in the second half.
"We didn't play very well," Clark said. "We competed early in the game and grinded, but when it came down to the important part of the game, we just failed to do the things we needed to do to put ourselves in a position to win.
"It's a trend," Clark said of the turnovers. "We have to find a way to get it fixed quickly or it's going to continue to haunt us and make it hard for us to win some ballgames.
Eldorado had the lead nine times and led 10-5 in the first quarter and again 22-16 in the second quarter.
A Derek Mayberry bucket gave Eldorado a 46-43 lead in the fourth, but it would be the last for the Eagles as Gallatin as the Hawks took a eight-point lead with 3:00 to play.
The Eagles would cough up the rock three more times in the last two minutes of the game in trying to mount a comeback.
Gallatin (3-2) was led in scoring by Jared Jackson who dumped in 16 points, while Austin Russell added 14 and Chandler Scates scored 10 points.
Nathan Burnett was the lone player in double figures for the Eagles (1-4) with 10 points.
