  • A Lomax woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision, which also involved a Macomb man, Friday in Henderson County, and law enforcement reported weather was a factor.
According to a crash alert from the Illinois State Police District 14, Jessica Beasley, 36, was traveling northbound on Carman Road in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am when she lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered roadway.
Beasley spun into on-coming traffic and was struck on the passenger side of her vehicle by a 1997 Ford F150 Pick-up, driven by Brian Nelson, 38, of Macomb.
The 36-year-old from Lomax sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead on scene by the Henderson County coroner.
Nelson was transported to an area hospital via ambulance, where he was treated and released with no injuries.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Lomax Fire and Ambulance, Burlington Fire and Ambulance and Coroner Kris Beals.
No citations were issued. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
