  • Eldorado, Harrisburg fill up spots on respective All-Conference lists

  • Local area football players were well represented at the end of the season All-Conference lists.
    The Eldorado Eagle football team, who returned to the playoffs after a one-year hiatus, put three players on the Black Diamond Conference First Team.
    Dylan Roberts, Tyler Deaton and Tristen Morse, all seniors, joined nine others, including Carmi-White County's Chase Sailer and Vienna's Dallas Melot.
    Roberts joined Chester's Joel Clendenin and Derek Greifzu as first team running backs, while Deaton was named an end, along with Chester's Brad Asselmeir.
    Morse was named a tackle, along with Fairfield's Cody Simpson and C-Z-R's Ethan Connor. Asselmeir was named Most Valuable Player of the BDC, while Clendenin was named Offensive Captain.
    Making First Team Defense from Eldorado was Austin Miller, Justin Wiseman and Derek Mitchell. Miller was named Defensive Captain, along with Fairfield's Skyler Esmon.
    Blaine Duffee, a senior center for Eldorado, was named Second Team Offense.
    Kaleb Williams and Nick Schimp were each named to the Black Diamond Conference's Second Team Defense.
    Nathan Burnett and Drew Woolcott were each named Honorable Mention by the BDC.
    On the River-to-River side, Harrisburg had three players make the list, with junior Cooper Thompson being named to the First Team as a linebacker.
    Noah Vallette joined Thompson on the defensive side, but was named Second Team as a defensive back.
    Jarren Goldman was also named to the Second Team Offense as a running back.
    Harrisburg didn't have any players named to the All-South, but Eldorado put five on the list, including Roberts, Miller, Mitchell, Morse and Deaton.
    Miller was named honorable mention on the All-State team and Deaton was named academic All-State.
