  • Saline County Historical Society is offering the Christmas on the Frontier celebration 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Saline Creek Pioneer Village and Museum located at 1600 S. Feazel St. in Harrisburg.

  • Saline County Historical Society is offering the Christmas on the Frontier celebration 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Saline Creek Pioneer Village and Museum located at 1600 S. Feazel St. in Harrisburg.
    The Society will be visited by Santa and Mrs. Claus, according to Saline County Historical Society President Mary Shackleford. There will be a Christmas tree lighting, a performance by the Phelps Brothers, a reading of the Christmas Story by librarian Kay McCue and a performance by the Bankston Church Choir.
    The Saline County Chamber of Commerce will serve hot chocolate and the Harrisburg Homemakers will offer hot cider and cookies. The event will last from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. or whenever the participants choose to leave.
    From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 the museum will celebrate the annual Blessing of the County.
    The service will be held in the old Cain Church on the museum grounds and will then travel to the Aydelott Cabin on the museum grounds for cider, chocolate and cookies.
