Two days after earning a victory over county rival Eldorado, Harrisburg continued its winning ways, getting another Saline County victory.
Ashley Ferrell and Lindsey Murray both finished in double figures as the Bulldogs knocked off Galatia 59-22 at Southeastern Illinois Community College.
Ferrell scored 22 points and is now just four shy of 1,000 points. The senior guard was 6-of-12 from the floor and 7-of-8 at the free throw line, while she handed out two assists, to go along with four steals and two rebounds.
Murray tacked on 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting. Ferrell's running mate at top came away with a team-high eight steals, handed out seven dimes and grabbed five rebounds for head coach Jake Stewart.
Elizabeth Sloan scored 12 points for the Bearcats.
Kelsey Hobbs added eight points for the Bulldogs, while Hanna Jones scored six points. Alexa Burtis finished with five points, while Whitney Younger had four points and Hayley Thompson had two points.
After taking a 16-2 lead after one quarter of play, Harrisburg rolled up 18 second quarter points to lead 34-12 at halftime.
The Bulldogs kept on the gas in the third period, outscoring Galatia 13-4 to lead 47-16.
Harrisburg returns to action tonight (Tuesday) with a road game at West Frankfort.
West Frankfort handed Harrisburg its lone loss this season last Wednesday in the Harrisburg Girls Basketball Preview Tournament on a last second shot for the one-point win.
