  • Eagles put a trio of players in double digit scoring at Harrisburg Preview Tournament

  • The Eldorado High School girls' basketball team put three players in double figures as the Eagles routed Anna-Jonesboro 62-37 in Day 2 action of the Harrisburg High School Girls Basketball Preview Tournament.
    Jacqlyn Artman took high honors for Josh Bradley's Eagles (3-0) scoring 14 points, while grabbing a team-high six rebounds.
    Kourtney Phillips netted 13 points for Eldorado on 6-of-10 shooting from the field, to go along with a team-high five steals.
    Erica Graczyk scored 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting. The senior forward grabbed three rebounds and came away with three steals.
    Eldorado jumped out to a 20-4 lead before taking its foot off the break in the second period as the Eagles outscored the Wildcats 9-6.
    After taking a 29-10 lead into the locker room, Eldorado put its foot back on the gas, scoring 33 points in the second half, 17 of which came in the game's final eight minutes.
    In all, Eldorado had 10 girls that found the scoring column.
    Taylor Goodley had seven points, while Abby Steed and Dresdyn Bramlet all finished with four points.
    Caitlyn Stafford netted three points, while Riley Duckworth and Rachel Durham all had two points. Brooklynn Peavler added a free throw for the Eagles.
    Eldorado is back on action tonight (Wednesday) as the Eagles play Carmi-White County at the Harrisburg Invitational at 6 p.m.. That game will be followed by Harrisburg and West Frankfort at 7:30 p.m.
    Eldorado will then play West Frankfort on Friday night, starting at 6 p.m., followed by Harrisburg and Anna-Jonesboro at 7:30 p.m.
    The Preview Tournament wraps up Saturday with Carmi-White County playing Anna-Jonesboro at 6 p.m. and Eldorado facing Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m.
