A car accident just west of Dykersberg Road on state Route 13 resulted in several injuries and one fatality Nov. 13.
Williamson County Sheriff's units responded to the scene about 6 p.m. A vehicle driven by Latonya Hanson, 20, of Harrisburg was traveling East on Route 13 when she struck another vehicle causing Hanson to lose control of her vehicle, according to a release from the Willamson County Coroner Mike "Junior" Burke.
Hanson's vehicle then crossed the median and overturned in the westbound lane of the highway. The driver of the other vehicle was apparently uninjured in the accident.
Hanson and her two children — ages 2 and 3 years old — were thrown from the vehicle. Numerous emergency vehicles responded to the scene, with the two children being transported by separate medical helicopters for treatment.
According to obituary information her children are Aaliyah Monae Bolaji and Amiyah Lashae Bolaji. Hanson was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 7:25 by Williamson County Corner Junior Burke.
Hanson was a certified nursing assistant and was a member of the First Opportunity Freewill Missionary Baptist Church in Carrier Mills.
Both lanes were blocked for a time though it was reported that as of 8 p.m. the eastbound lane was clear for traffic. The westbound lane was closed until about 9 p.m. with traffic being rerouted via Angleville Road to Galatia Post Road.
Williamson County Sheriff's Office and Coroner's Office are continuing to investigate the accident.
Funeral services were noon Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
