Eldorado firefighters extinguished a structure fire in the Raleigh area Tuesday afternoon believed to have been caused by children playing with matches.
The home at 1745 Coffee Road is owned by Shadrach Wiseman, Fire Chief Mike McKinnies said.
The fire began in the southeast bedroom, a fortunate location due to the winds out of the north that would have further fanned the flames, McKinnies said.
The fire was reported 2:59 p.m. and the first firefighters were on the scene by 3:07 p.m. The 14 firefighters remained on the scene about 2 hours.
McKinnies said the family lost a lot of kid clothes and there was major damage to the southeast bedroom though the fire required less than 1,000 gallons of water to get under control.
