  • The junior class at Carrier Mill-Stonefort High School is doing very well in the fundraising efforts for their after-prom party.
Several different fund-raising activities are paying off for the enterprising students in the quest to have a memorable after-prom experience. The juniors plan to have their prom at the high school and then be transported by charter bus to the Southern Illinois University-Carbondale recreational center and have their after-prom party there, and then are to be bussed back for a breakfast in Carrier Mills.
The juniors have run a very successful and scary The Mills Have Eyes haunted warehouse in the old NAPA building in Carrier Mills for two weekends and this endeavor has raised around $2,100 for them. The juniors are also running a Hog and Freezer Raffle in which a whole processed hog and a new freezer will be raffled off on the night of prom.
Already the raffle has raised well over $1,000 dollars for the juniors.
“It’s going very well.” said Tami Stone, the junior class sponsor adding, “My daughter alone has sold $400 worth of raffle tickets.”
For more information or to purchase raffle tickets, contact any CMHS junior or their class sponsor, Tami Stone at 618-926-2590
The juniors are raising the bar for after-prom party fundraising and by their labors they certainly deserve to have an unforgettable prom.
