Paul Wilburn Bartley, 72, of Eldorado, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.
He was born in New Haven on Aug. 28, 1941, to the late James Webber and Edith B. (Ellison) Bartley. He worked as a farm hand.
On Sept. 2, 1961, he married the former Janet Waltz and she survives in Eldorado. He is also survived by a son: Jeff (Tracey) Bartley of Carmi; two daughters: Kim (Mike) Laswell of Eldorado and Lisa (Steve) Norman of Owensville, Ind. He is survived by four grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren: Brittany Coston, Dylan Coston, Ryan Bartley, Jake Bartley, Michaela Laswell, Tommy (Sara) Laswell, Samantha (Dexter) Cantrell and Ben (Jennifer) Gill and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers: Dennis Bartley of Carmi, Ernest Wayne (Elaine) Bartley of Carmi, Gary (Betty) Bartley of Carmi and James (Alva) Bartley of Omaha and one sister Velma Louise (Richard) Durbin of McLeansboro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Junior, Robert and Merle Bartley and his mother and father-in-law Laura and Leroy Waltz.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home. Jim Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.
