The Eldorado Woman’s Club Halloween Costume Contest is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, just before the 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. trick-or-treating and downtown trunk-or-treating begins.
In front of the Town & Country Stage, prizes will be given for the best, scariest and funniest costumes in each age category.
The categories are 0-1 years; 2, 3 and 4 years; kindergarteners, first-graders and second-graders; third-, fourth- and fifth-graders; middle school; and high school and up.
The contest is free and all participants will receive treats donated by the American Legion Auxiliary.
After the prizes are given out the participants will likely find the end of the line and parade up Locust Street toward the Fire Department receiving candy from businesses, churches and others offering a safe trunk-or-treat.
