The Harrisburg High School volleyball fell in straight sets to Carbondale, losing 25-11 and 25-20 at the Marion Class 2A Regional Monday night.
"The girls rallied back after a sluggish first game and even had the lead at one time," Harrisburg head coach Stephanie Ferrell said. "But we fell short in the end. They gave it their all until the end and I am proud of them for that. Carbondale is a talented team with some great hitters and even better defense."
Hannah Bartok led the Bulldogs with 15 digs, while Ashley Ferrell finished with seven. The senior also went 8-for-10 on hits and had two kills. Parker Upchurch had six digs, while Brittany Reynolds added three digs and went 25-for-25 on sets. Whitney Younger had two digs, to go along with seven hits and two kills.
Devan Jones was 8-for-9 on hits with five kills and one block stuff, while Mychaela Colbert, Brantlea Jones and Hayley Thompson all had four hits.
Malayna Douglas finished the night going 27-for-29 on sets.
