David Lane Stucker, 46, Stonefort, passed away 8:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in the hospice care facility of Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
David was born Nov. 20, 1966, in Pontiac, Mich.
David was united in marriage to Mandy L. Hill on April 24, 1987, in Crab Orchard. She survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Cody Lane Stucker of Stonefort, Clayton Mark Stucker of Stonefort and Kayce Williams; his father, Howard Stucker of Harrisburg; his mother and stepfather, Martha (Reynolds) and Randell Canada of Stonefort; a brother, Mark and Kim Stucker of Stonefort; nieces, Carrie Stucker and Erica Stucker; a brother-in-law, Charles Christopher Martin of Carrier Mills; two young men who David thought of as sons, Michael Timothy Harper and Mark Andrew Harper; aunts; uncles; cousins; other relatives; and many dear friends.
David is also survived by his special dog, Daisy May, who accompanied him everywhere.
David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilson and Sybil Stucker; his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Lucille Reynolds; and a brother-in-law, Preston Martin.
David was a 1984 graduate of Carrier Mills High School. He also graduated from the Illinois Department of Corrections Academy in March 1989. David was employed for 24 years as a guard at the Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg. He was a member of AFSCME.
David was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He enjoyed camping and spending time in the woods. David is remembered for his zest for life and living life to the fullest every day. He always gave 150 percent to everything he did. David was a big jokester and loved making people laugh. He was an amazing husband and dad and an awesome friend to many.
David was a member of the Cairo Pentecostal Church and was very proud that his two sons had both been called into the ministry.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother DeWayne McCall will officiate. Burial will be in the Wise-Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
