  • Prep Volleyball: Eagles send seniors out in style

  • The Eldorado High School volleyball team knocked off Sesser-Valier in three sets Tuesday night, winning the first set 25-21, while falling in the second set 20-15. The Eagles rebounded for a 25-19 third set victory over the Red Devils.
    Tuesday night was also senior night for Eldorado's three seniors in Erica Graczyk, Kourtney Phillips and Sadie Steed.
    "I'm so glad that the seniors could play their last home game and come out with a win," head coach Lisa Craig said. "They have lead our team all season, they will be missed when the season is over."
    Graczyk finished 16-for-20 on spikes with 11 kills and went 12-for-14 on serves with five aces, while finishing 2-for-2 on blocks with one kill. Phillips finished 12-for-15 on spikes with four kills, while going 12-for-14 on serves with 11 points, two aces and one block. Steed went 12-for-13 on spikes with four kills and 5-for-9 from the service line with nine points.
    Abby Steed was 7-for-8 on spikes with one kill and finished 12-for-13 on serves with 13 points and seven aces, while Mary Mitchell had four aces to go along with a 10-for-13 performance from the serving line with 14 points. Mitchell was nearly flawless on sets, going 45-for-47 with one spike.
    "Our serving was excellent tonight with 21 aces in the three games," Craig said.
    Dresdyn Bramlett was 8-for-11 on spikes with one kill and 9-for-11 on serves with 12 points and two aces. Katrina Beaumont had nine digs for Eldorado.
    The Eagles return to action Monday night when they take on Carmi-White County in the first round of the IHSA Class A Regional at Edwards County, starting at 6 p.m.
