The junior class at the Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School is serious about raising funds for their after-prom party.
During the Catskin Days festival, the juniors ran a very scary haunted house in the old NAPA building in downtown Carrier Mills. The Mills Have Eyes was popular and by all accounts one of the scarier haunted houses seen in the area in quite awhile. It also gathered around a $1,000.00 for the after-prom party.
The juniors are planning to open the haunted house again close to Halloween.
Now the juniors are going whole hog in their Hog and Freezer raffle. The junior class will raffle off a whole processed hog and a new freezer with the drawing to be held on Dec. 13 at the high school prom.
The hog is being donated by David Betz. D&S Heating is paying for the processing of the hog and Angie Crowder is donating the new freezer. Raffle tickets are going for $5 a piece or three tickets for $10, and are available from any Carrier Mills-Stonefort junior or from the junior class sponsor, Tami Stone at 618-926-2590.
