  • Looking to rebound from Tuesday's disappointing finish at the Southern Illinois River-To-River Conference golf tournament at Hickory Ridge, the Harrisburg boys' golf team, grabbed the ball off the glass and ran with it.
Harrisburg knocked off two-time defending Class 2A State Champion and Carbondale Wednesday with a 148, edging out Belleville Althoff by one at 149, while the Terriers shot a 191.
    Belleville Althoff's Michael Johnson carded a 34, while Harrisburg's Alexander Tison shot a 35.
Dillon Street shot a 37, while Ben Fowler and Ryan Williams each carded a 38. Patrick Bittle finished with a 40 and Garrett Jenkins fired a 41.
"It was a great team effort by the Bulldogs," Harrisburg head coach Mike Tison said. "We played Hickory Ridge again where we only played just okay at conference. Our team wanted to prove to themselves the kind of team they are and they did, I thought. Every player really grinded today to shoot the best score they could."
