Wanda Blakeley, 82 of Harrisburg, passed away 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2013, at her residence.
She was born in Harrisburg, the daughter of Fred and Abigail Jones Burns. Wanda was married to Sam Blakely and he preceded her in death March 1, 1999. Wanda was a registered pharmacist and she and her husband Sam owned and operated the Rainbow Drug Store for many years. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harrisburg where she was an elder and a deacon.
She is survived by one son, John and Melanie Blakeley, Tallahassee, Fla.; one daughter, Susan and Larry Lambert, Golconda; three grandchildren, Kelly Kerns, Alyson Blakeley, and Abby Blakeley; two step-grandchildren, Ryan Lambert and Shannon Lambert and five great-grandchildren Lindsey, Lauran, Natalie, Dalton and Samuel Lambert.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Elizabeth Moses, the Rev. Nate Mochizuki and the Rev. Jimmy Dale Lambert. For those who wish, memorials may be made in her name to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund and left at the church. The J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
