  • Harrisburg notches hard fought win over Centralia

  • The Harrisburg High School soccer team earned a hard fought 4-3 road win against Centralia Thursday night.
    "Our game is really starting to come together," Harrisburg head coach Mike Stewart said. "We possesed well, we controlled well, we moved the ball well and we pressured on the top well. This is what we have been looking for all season."
    The Orphans opened the opened up the game with a 2-0 lead, before Dylan Butler got the Bulldogs on the board with a goal, followed up with a game-tying score from Anfernee Houston.
    Houston continued to shine in the second half as his two goals, not only tied, but provided the winning score as Harrisburg earned a win over a South Seven Conference school.
    Houston finished with six shots on goal and added an assist to go along with his three goals.
    Cody Morris, Garret Proctor also had shots on goal.
    Ryan Cowsert got the win in goal for the Bulldogs with three saves.
    "We are starting to gel as a team," Stewart said. "I am very happy with the way these young men are starting to play together as a team putting all these elements of the game together.
    "This is what needs to happen in order for us to advance in post season play. If we continue to move in the right direction things are going to get very exciting for this Bulldog soccer team."
