Harrisburg High School head boys' golf coach Mike Tison called Wednesday's 18-hole Marion Invitational a tune up for this year's Class 2A Regional.
When the dust settled, Tison realizes things could have been better, but he still likes his Bulldogs' chances.
Harrisburg finished fourth overall and 10 strokes off of first place finisher Massac County at Kokopelli Golf Club.
The Patriots fired a 314, while Marion came in second with a 317. Mt. Carmel took third in the nine-team event with a 320 and Harrisburg took fourth with a 324.
Centralia was fifth with a 328, followed by Murphysboro (330), Mt. Vernon (342), Benton (360) and Carbondale (385).
Alexander Tison took low honors for Harrisburg with an 80, followed by a pair of 81's from Ben Fowler and Dillion Street. Ryan Williams had an 82 and Patrick Bittle carded a 91.
"Our team now knows what they need to do to advance," Tison said. "We need to play smarter, hit more fairways and putt better, but I still like our chances come postseason."
