  • The Harrisburg High School volleyball team stayed undefeated in regular season play, claiming a straight sets victory over Carrier Mills 25-12, 25-6, Thursday night at Davenport Gymnasium.
    Devan Jones and Mychaela Colbert combined for five blocks with Jones going 3-for-3 and Colbert finishing 2-for-2. Jones had two stuffs and Colbert had one stuff.
    Whitney Younger was 8-for-10 on hits with six kills, while Ashley Ferrell finished 7-for-8 with three kills. Haley Thompson went 5-for-5 with three kills, while Colbert was also 5-for-5, but had two kills. Jones went 5-for-9 with four kills.
    Malayna Douglas was 16-for-16 on sets with six assists, while Brittany Reynolds was 14-for-15 on sets with five assists.
    "Our kids played hard tonight and kept their momentum up," Harrisburg head coach Stephanie Ferrell said. "We worked on being aggressive and playing until the whistle."
    The Harrisburg junior varsity ballclub posted straight-set wins over Carrier Mills, winning 25-18, 25-17, while the Bulldog freshmen club won 26-24 and 25-12.
