The Henry and Stark County Health Department announces that members of
their staff recently attended a Family Planning Technical Training. The
training was entitled, "Hop on the Right Track." Sandy Sommer, RN Health
Department Director of Clinical Services and Angie Peach, LNP Family
Planning Coordinator, attended the conference held recently in Springfield,
Sommer notes, "The goal for the conference was to bring the Illinois
Family Planning Network together for a comprehensive update and review of
current issues in family planning."
Sommer adds, "The conference featured a multitude of interesting topics
such as the Important Role of Family Planning; Revised Title X Guidelines;
Measuring Program Performance, Health Care Reform; Preconception Health Care
and Reproductive Life Planning; Contraceptive Updates; and a session of
Human Trafficking."
By attending conferences such as these, the Health Department's Clinical
Services Division continually strives to keep up-to-date on the latest
clinical trends and innovations. "This will only result in better services
being offered to our area residents," adds Sommer.
