Lloyd Pankey, 97, of Clinton, Mo., formerly of Carrier Mills, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, in Clinton, Mo.
Funeral services will be held noon Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held Thursday after 10 am until service time. The Rev. Paul Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills.
He was born on June 3, 1916, in Carrier Mills to the late Harry and Nora (Laymons) Pankey.
He married the former Genevieve Dalton on June 5, 1946, and she preceded in death on Dec. 16, 1988.
He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Land Street Church of God in Harrisburg and a former member of the Springfield Oddfellows.
He is survived by two daughters: Margaret Camden of Clinton, Mo., and Bernice Sponsler of Peoria; two sons: Charles Wayne Pankey and Lloyd Pankey Jr., both of Clinton, Mo.; sister: Esther Hancock of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Janet Sue Brimberry, four brothers and two sisters.
