The public session of Harrisburg school board lasted only as long as it took to take votes on three pieces of action and announce the tabling of a fourth Tuesday night.
The board immediately voted to enter closed session for the stated purpose of ratifying agreements with the teachers and custodial unions, employment of an agriculture teacher and an issue regarding reduction in force.
When the board opened the meeting to the public — without any discussion, the board ratified one-year agreements with the Harrisburg Education Association teacher's union and the Service Employees International Union representing the custodial staff. Board members Kevin Dowdy, Brian Hester and Molly Wilson-Dearing voted no on both with Tom DeNeal, Jeffrey Drake, Scott Berry and Michelle Way — attending by Internet video — voting yes.
The board tabled the issue of a resolution for reduction in force.
The board voted to employ Casey R. Ellis as high school agriculture instructor.
