Saline County State’s Attorney Michael J. Henshaw has announced the appointment Assistant State’s Attorney Jayson Clark.
Circuit Judge Todd D. Lambert administered the oath of office to Clark during a ceremony at the Saline County courthouse Monday, according to a release from the Henshaw.
Clark fills a position left open by the resignation of Eva Walker.
“Following the resignation of Eva Walker as an assistant in my office, I wanted to find another experienced attorney who could step right in and start handling even our most complex cases right from the start. Jayson has that experience and we are glad to have him in the office.” Henshaw said, in a prepared release.
Clark — an Eldorado native — brings nearly nine years of legal experience in state and federal courtrooms all over the United States to the State’s Attorney’s office. He is a career litigator with experience handling criminal and civil cases.
Clark received his law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Mo.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to come home to Saline County to serve as a prosecutor. Southern Illinois is the place I have proudly called home all my life and Krystal and I are so glad we will be raising our family here.” Clark said, in the prepared release.
Clark was born and raised in Eldorado. He and his wife, Krystal, recently moved back to Eldorado with their two sons, Owen and Hudson.
Jayson is the son of Jerry and Pat Clark of Eldorado.
