Clarence Brackney Jr., 76, of 130 Karen Ann Lane, Carrier Mills, died 2:15 a.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Monday June 24, 2013, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Masonic Rites will be included in the services. Military rites will follow immediately after the religious service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1937, in Cabery, to the late Clarence and Beulah Mae (Martin) Brackney Sr.
He married Charlotte S. Kiser on April 24, 1982, and she survives.
He was a retired machinist and a veteran of the Marine Corps.
He was a member of Herscher Methodist Church, Carrier Mills American Legion, Manteno American Legion, Carrier Mills Masonic Lodge and he was also a Shriner. He volunteered as a driver to take ill children to the Shriners Hospital.
He is survived by his wife: Charlotte Brackney of Carrier Mills; nine children: Christopher McCray of Herscher; Kelly Irby of Ripley, Tenn.; Kathy McCray of Tinley Park; Timothy McCray of Portland Ore.; Kevin Brackney of Manteno; Kimberly Huth of O'Fallon; Kathryn Eads of Mantachie, Miss.; Kristine Ferguson of Mempis, Tenn., and Jessie Claudio of Lincoln; best friend: Ron Bosman of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; two brothers: Benjamin House of Baton Rouge, La.; and George Brackney of Kankakee; three sisters: Dorothy Norder of Cressant City; Delores Saltzgiver of Tampa, Fla., and Amelia George of Kankakee; 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Susan Earnhardt; and a sister: Linda Phans.
