  • Harrisburg firefighters extinguished a house fire Wednesday evening that caused significant damage to the front of a residence at 1214 E. Sloan St.
    Firefighters arrived at 6:11 p.m. to the home of Charles Talbot and his wife to find half of the single family dwelling engulfed with fire, according to the fire report.
    Firefighters attacked first from the outside and then entered the structure.
    Firefighters ensured no one was inside and searched for hidden fires. They were on the scene about an hour.
    The American Red Cross is paying for hotel housing for the couple.
    The house is owned by Ben Byrd.
