  • Tuesday morning's thunderstorm caused a power outage in Harrisburg that lasted about an hour and a lightning strike caused one citizen grief at 507 W. McHaney Ave.
At 4 a.m. Harrisburg firefighters responded to the home of Norman Avery where a lightning strike is believed to have struck a tree, causing a large branch to fall across the power line that was connected to the house, according to a fire report.
The weathered and conduit leading to the meter had been pulled away from the house.
Firefighters shut off the breaker inside the house, removed the meter from the base and checked for smoke or fire, returning to the station about 20 minutes later.
