  • Prep T&F: Duncan shatters school records at sectionals

  • The Harrisburg High School boys' track & field team finished seventh at Thursday's Class 2A Sectional, but the Bulldogs qualified three individuals for next week's IHSA State Championship at Eastern Illinois University.
    DJ Duncan qualified in two events as the Bulldog senior qualified in the 110 high hurdles, taking first place with a time of 14.04 setting a new school record, breaking the 33-year old record held by Duncan's cousin Parry Duncan.
    Duncan wasn't done setting school records as he broke the old time in the 300 intermediate hurdles in a time of 37.81.
    Isaac Ingram took the shot put title with a throw of 57-7 and Capel Henshaw will return to the state stage. The Bulldog senior who helped Harrisburg's to the schools first Class 2A basketball title, will now try to win an individual title as he finished third in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6-3.
    Eldorado sends Wiseman, Kanady to state
    Justin Wiseman took first in the shot put with a throw of 48'8", while Austin Miller finished fifth with a heave of 43'8".

    The 4x200 relay team took third with a time of 1:36, while Logan Kanady earned a state berth with a first place finish in the 200 meters, winning with a time of 23.08.
