You know, it was only about four months ago that people were being accused of being paranoid and crazy for suggesting that the Obama Administration had an “enemies list,” and that the Administration was targeting journalists for harassment, using the IRS to abuse political opponents and employ powers under the various homeland security laws to track political opponents. Well, we now know that the first two happen to be true. As I noted last week, international media organizations have been tracking governmental efforts to silence the media, and now we know that the Administration sicced the IRS on Tea Party organizations. We’re just waiting for the shoe to drop on internal surveillance, but I bet its coming. Add to this laundry list of Nixonian nightmares lying to Congress about Libya, abuse of power with military drones and the unlawful use of Air Force One for personal, political junkets, and I think we are getting a good of idea of what Congress will be dealing with for the short-term future. I guess what I’m trying to figure out, aside from the high crimes and misdemeanors, is why the Obama Administration has such poor judgment. Does this Administration think that targeting Tea Party organizations is a good way to restore bipartisanship in Washington? Or does it just prove that even the Obama Administration realizes that the Tea Party is the future, not Haley Barbour?  What I’m waiting for is all of you Obama supporters to now defend the practice of using the IRS to target political enemies, so that the conversion to Nixon-heads can be complete.
