  • A new radio station is broadcasting from Harrisburg, bringing messages of the Catholic faith to listeners.
The Covenant Network is the radio affiliate of the Eternal Word Television Network.
“Several years ago there was an opening with the FCC to apply for new construction permits to build a station. We were looking for a frequency so that we didn’t interfere with other stations and your area was one of them,” President Tony Holman of the Covenant Network’s St. Louis office said.
The station is at 81.1 FM with the call letters WIHM and has been on air since the last week of March. Holman said the broadcast signal is strong enough it can be heard in the neighboring counties.
Local people can play a roll in the format.
“There are live call-in shows where people can participate. The format is mainly teaching the Catholic faith,” Holman said.
    The station is a listener-supported not-for-profit corporation.
Holman said those who would like a program schedule may call 877-305-1234.
