Millard S. Rice, 86, of 46 Butler Street, Eldorado, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
He was born in West Frankfort on March 20, 1927, to the late Smith and Carmon (Bell) Rice. On June 28, 1947, he married the former Mary Jean (Neal) and she survives in Eldorado.
He was a carpenter working with Fanno Bledig for several years and then worked for Peabody Coal Company Eagle No. 2.
He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Eldorado First Christian Church.
Besides his wife Mary Jean, he is survived by two sons, Jerry (Oma) Rice of Norris City and Brian (Melissa) Rice of Washington, Pa.; and a daughter-in-law, Kim Rice of Madisonville, Ky. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nephews Eddie, Terry, Gary, Rick, Daryl Rice and Bill Neal, and a niece Brenda Rice.
He was preceded in death by a son Larry Rice and a brother Willard Rice.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday May 10, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home. Dennis Robison is officiating and burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday May 10, 2013.
Memorial contributions may be made to The First Christian Church and may be left at the funeral home.
