Hanna Jones played the role of hero Monday night when her 3-run home run with two outs in the top of the seventh proved to be the difference as Harrisburg knocked off Anna-Jonesboro in come from behind fashion.
Alexa Burtis led off the the seventh with a walk and Hannah Davis followed suit with a single.
After two Bulldog batters recorded outs, Jones stepped up to deliver the game winner.
Jones (10-10) also got the win in the circle for Harrisburg as she faced 31 batters, giving up no earned runs as the Bulldogs committed five errors on the day. Meanwhile, Jones gave up six hits and struck out three.
Jones finished 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs, while Davis was 2-for-3. Brittany Reynolds was 1-for-2 at the dish with an RBI, scoring Ashley Ferrell in the sixth inning.
Harrisburg is slated to host Carbondale today at 4:30 p.m. and then the Bulldogs are still set to host Du Quoin and Cobden in a round robin Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.
