Clovers & Cloverettes 4-H Club has kicked off a “food fight” at the Harrisburg Middle School.
They are asking students to bring in canned goods and non-perishable items from Monday, April 29 through Friday May 10 to their first hour classroom.
At the end of the food drive the first hour class with the most items will win the HMS Food Fight and every student in that classroom will be awarded with a prize bag filled with food certificates, candy, and other prizes.
Organizers encourage everyone with a child, grandchild, or anyone who knows a pupil at the Middle School to send donations with pupil. Other may get involved by dropping off their items at the Woodforest Bank location, located inside the Harrisburg Walmart.
Items collected include non-perishable foods only such as canned meats, fish, canned fruits, vegetables, canned soups, peanut butter, pasta, rice and cereal. All donations collected will go to the Harvest Deliverance Center in Harrisburg. Those with questions may call the 4-H club leader at 618-926-3062.
