Grace E. Canada, age 59, of Equality, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at her home in Equality.
Grace was born on Nov. 9, 1953, in Evansville, Ind., to the late Donald and Ida Ben (Kibby) Vincent. She married Richard Canada on April 11, 1985, and he survives in Equality. Grace was a coal miner and most recently worked for Consolidated Coal Company of Kentucky.
Grace was a member of the UMWA for 23 years. She enjoyed fishing, playing golf and her roses. She was an avid UK Wildcats fan and a St. Louis Cardinals fan. She also loved her dog, Gigi.
In addition to her husband Richard, Grace is survived by a daughter, Londa Sisk of Equality; step-daughter, Brandi Canada of Christopher; three sisters, Brenda Gossett and husband Rick of Bensenville; Martha McLevian of Draksboro, Ky., and Faye Brown of Central City, Ky.; brother, James Brown of Central City, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Donald "Bubba" Vincent, Jr., and Ricky Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Ivan Ryan will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
