Harrisburg City Finance Commissioner Ron Crank underwent brain surgery for a tumor Tuesday at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. The surgery was to last all day said his wife Mary Crank.
Mary Crank said Tuesday, "The family wishes to extend a thank you to all the people who have supported us with their prayers. It makes us feel loved."
Wednesday morning Mrs. Crank said, "He had a very successful surgery and is in recovery in intensive care. He may be released next week. We are waiting on the pathology reports which should come in in three or four days. He is alert, walking, eating and drinking and cracking jokes. He has kept his sense of humor and is happy to have his family with him."
The city council is scheduled to appoint a temporary replacement as finance commissioner at the council's 6 p.m.
Thursday, April 18 meeting, according to the meeting agenda.
