  • sadie steed and the eldorado girls' 3200 meter relay team grabbed first place finishes at tuesday's track & field meet at hamilton county high school.
    eldorado scored a total of 57 points, placing fourth out of six teams.
    steed grabbed a first place finish in the triple jump, going 29-feet-10.5, while the 3200 meter relay team finished in a time of 12:20.38.
    dempsey hankins, danielle bradley, alyssa payne and erica graczyk make up the 3200 meter relay team and hankins grabbed a fourth and third place finish in the 800 and 1600 meter runs respectively, finishing the 800 meters with a time of 3:00.46 and crossing the finish line in the 1600 for a time of 6:36.75.
    steed finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.38, while erica graczyk took second in the high jump, clearing 4-foot-6.
    the 400 meter relay team of sarah baldwin, carrie sauls, andrea wright and jacqlyn artman finished fourth with a time of 1:08.
    baldwin took fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 15.7, while danielle bradley was fifth in the 100 high hurdles, finishing in a time of 21.61.
    elsie talkington took sixth place in the shot put with a toss of 25-feet-5.
    the eldorado girls' track team is expected to be back in action thursday in a meet at west frankfort.
