  • Prep T&F: Eldorado girls grab a pair of first place finishes

  • Sadie Steed and the Eldorado girls' 3200 meter relay team grabbed first place finishes at Tuesday's track & field meet at Hamilton County High School.
    Eldorado scored a total of 57 points, placing fourth out of six teams.
    Steed grabbed a first place finish in the triple jump, going 29-feet-10.5, while the 3200 meter relay team finished in a time of 12:20.38.
    Dempsey Hankins, Danielle Bradley, Alyssa Payne and Erica Graczyk make up the 3200 meter relay team and Hankins grabbed a fourth and third place finish in the 800 and 1600 meter runs respectively, finishing the 800 meters with a time of 3:00.46 and crossing the finish line in the 1600 for a time of 6:36.75.
    Steed finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.38, while Erica Graczyk took second in the high jump, clearing 4-foot-6.
    The 400 meter relay team of Sarah Baldwin, Carrie Sauls, Andrea Wright and Jacqlyn Artman finished fourth with a time of 1:08.
    Baldwin took fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 15.7, while Danielle Bradley was fifth in the 100 high hurdles, finishing in a time of 21.61.
    Elsie Talkington took sixth place in the shot put with a toss of 25-feet-5.
    The Eldorado girls' track team is expected to be back in action Thursday in a meet at West Frankfort.
